Join us April 22nd to hear Guest Speaker – Eve Joseph, acclaimed poet and author – lead us in a discussion and exploration of the interconnectedness between death, language and art.
Eve Joseph has written several books, including In the Slender Margin: The Intimate Strangeness of Death & Dying, that won the Hubert Evans Award for non-fiction. In this book – part memoir, part meditation – she delves into death from an “insider’s” point of view. Joseph weaves together deeply human, spiritual knowledge by interlacing threads of her brother’s early death with her decades of work as a hospice counsellor. She helps discern the unknowable and illuminates travels through the land of the dying.
What narratives and metaphors do we spin to keep the light going after the candle has been snuffed out? Join us Thursday April 22 2021 at 6:30 pm to find out.
