This is a multi-media event featuring the works of local artist Iris Moore, who in 2019, embarked on a journey to capture the stories and faces of people dealing with death in their lives. Now, in collaboration with the Centre for Earth and Spirit, the portraits are finally being exhibited in an event that seeks to welcome dialogue around death and grief.

– Indoor space: art, animated films & conversation — facilitated dialogue around death
– Outdoor space: live music, libations, ancestor altars

-The portraits will be on display for the entire event and the artist will be present for anyone who would like to chat.
This event will be held on the Lekwungen land, with gratitude, respect, love, and humility.
SCHEDULE:
1:00 – doors open
1:20 – song and libation
1:45 – Death chat room with facilitated conversation space for those interested
2:45 – words from the artist (Iris Moore) and Centre for Earth and Spirit
3:00 – musical performances
3:45 – Death chat room with facilitated conversation space for those interested
5:00 – event ends
ACCESSIBILITY
-***Indoor spaces will be MASKED and VENTILATED so we can welcome our immunocompromised friends!***
-This event is happening in a house with back yard (so outside space will be available)
-There are 11 steps leading up to the indoor space
-Parking is limited. We recommend carpooling/biking etc. or parking a few blocks away and taking a stroll! There will be one spot left open in the driveway so people can be dropped off directly.
